He believes strongly in providing the most evidence-based approach to treatment whilst taking a client-centred approach that places a high level of importance on the integral role of the therapeutic alliance between client and therapist.

He has worked in both public and private sectors and has experience in working with a broad range of psychological presentations across the lifespan, with particular interests in the treatment of depression, addiction, trauma, and personality disorders.  James also has significant experience in working with adults with a range of psychological issues related to the management and particular challenges of living with a chronic illness, as well as emotional adjustment to post-acute health conditions.
