Cheryl Freeman
Psychologist
Cheryl offers her clients a safe space to tell their story where they feel heard, respected, and cared for. She understands that as human beings we all experience some degree of anxiety, stress and/or depression in our lifetime, and that for some of us, that experience may be more debilitating than for others.
Cheryl approaches mental health from a holistic perspective. Her compassionate and empathetic approach, tailors’ evidence-based interventions from ACT, CBT, EMDR, Schema and Motivational therapies along with Psychoeducation, Mindfulness and Relaxation strategies to address individual client needs.
Cheryl has worked with clients across the lifespan from 8 to 103 years old. Prior to becoming a psychologist, she worked for many years as a life coach mentoring [predominantly] women who were navigating challenges and transitioning through change. During her Masters of Professional Psychology, she co-facilitated drug and alcohol relapse prevention programs in QLD prisons, and later completed her internship providing much-needed psychological services to our elderly in aged care.
