Carissa Croft

Carissa Croft

A person’s mental health affects how they feel, think, behave and relate to others. Trauma and life stressors can have a significant impact on a person’s well being and affect not only their mental health but their physical health, relationships and work.

Carissa is an AHPRA Registered General Psychologist and offers therapy to individuals, couples and families of all ages. She welcomes clients from all cultural backgrounds as well as LGBTQIA clients.

She has been working in the field for over 5 years in a variety of roles, including forensic, educational and clinical, giving her a wide breadth of experience.

Anyone can seek therapy; no issue is too big or small. We are capable of constant self growth throughout our lives. At times we are able to work through things on our own. However, at other times it can be helpful to have someone to support through it.

Counselling and psychology can sometimes feel clinical and impersonal. Carissa’s approach ensures clients feel safe and secure. She encompasses a holistic approach to wellness, acknowledging the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, physical, social and spiritual parts of the self.

Depending on the needs of the client, her approach draws upon a range of skills from different evidence based therapies including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness strategies.
