Dr Leah Pischek Simpson

Dr Leah Pischek Simpson

Clinical Psychologist

Leah is a highly qualified psychologist with extensive experience in helping people with complex mental health difficulties.

She completed the seven-year clinical doctorate program at Griffith University and has since developed her skills working in private practice treating adults and older people, both men and women.

Her areas of expertise include: adult survivors of child sexual abuse; post-traumatic stress; chronic pain; dementia; psychosis; grief and loss; adult ADHD; and relationship difficulties. Leah’s goal in working with people is to look below the surface and determine the drivers behind symptoms such as stress, depression and anxiety—in order to deal with the underlying difficulties that maintain a person’s suffering.

Her approach draws on a number of techniques, including schema therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy.
